  Mic Rawls has been piercing professionally for more than 20 years. He has been the studio manager at Cold Steel since  1999.    Originally from Louisiana, Mic trained under Paul King while at Gauntlet, the first professional piercing shop in the Western world. Mic eventually obtained the level of Gauntlet Senior Piercer. Having worked in New York, London, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and Australia, he happily calls San Francisco home. Mic is proudly a recommended piercer by Elayne Angel, author of The Piercing Bible.   Becky Dill has been piercing professionally since 2003 and has been a member of our family since 2009.    She is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), Since becoming a member, she has participated in the APP mentor program and led roundtable discussions during their annual educational conference. Additionally, she is also a founding member of the Bay Area Piercers Group. Becky loves community outreach and furthering her own education. In 2012, Becky joined a panel of piercers, tattooists, and medical professionals to speak to college students for the "Be Smart with Body Art" Campaign's Hepatitis awareness month. She is proudly a recommended piercer by Elayne Angel, author of the The Piercing Bible. Recently, Becky became a trainer with the Fakir Body Piercing Intensive seminars.  Danny has worked for Cold Steel since August 2008, and plans on staying for as long as they'll have her.  You can find her in the studio Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, ready to answer your questions and help guide you to your next (or first!) amazing piece of jewelry.  Danny keeps the behind-the-scenes of Cold Steel running smoothly, managing all of our Internet Stuff; answering your emails, running our social media, website, and online store. She's also behind all of our jewelry photos and most client photos - if you're ever in the neighborhood and want to show off something you've gotten on one of your visits to the studio, pop in and have her take some glamour shots!  She is an associate member of the Association of Professional Piercers.

 After relocating from Ohio to the Bay Area in March of 2017, Shana joined the Cold Steel family. She began working in the industry 2001, but had been a part of the community since 1995.  Shana is passionate about body art, suspension, music, animals, and loves the outdoors. She has been an Audio/Visual volunteer at the Association of Professional Piercers conference since 2014, and became a member of the APP in 2017.  You can find her at Cold Steel on Fridays!  She is an associate member of the Association of Professional Piercers.

He is Gauntlet trained and certified with a one and half year apprenticeship under Elayne Angel, author of The Piercing Bible. He worked in all three former Gauntlet locations, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco and was store manager of LA and NYC. In 1996 Jim Ward, Founder of Gauntlet, awarded Paul King with the honorary title of Master Piercer. He apprenticed many Piercers for Gauntlet as well as co-taught Gauntlet Training seminars. Paul has a B.A. degree with highest honors in Anthropology from UC Berkeley. He has lectured at Universities, community groups, and conferences on various aspects of body modification since 1993.  In 1999, Paul King partnered to create Cold Steel America, tattooing and piercing services in San Francisco, California. He is an active member of the Association of Professional Piercers. In 2005, he successfully completed a three year elected board position as Treasurer for the APP. In 2007, he received the APP’s President’s Award for contributions to the Piercing Industry. He has served as a board-appointed treasurer and officer of the APP since 2008. In 2014, with the support of the APP board elect, Paul King created the Body Piercing Archive:  "The mission of the Body Piercing Archive is to select, collect, document, preserve, exhibit, and interpret the personal, social, and material evolving histories of Body Piercing to ensure these artifacts are available to present and successive generations.”   Please contact him through this site for guest lecturing.
